My Favourite Monarchs Past and Present

Monarchy as one of the Popes said: the best of all governments ( I can't remember which one. )
I personally think that most countries in the world should have a monarch and become a monarchy but that's for another blog.
Anyway here's my top 10 favourite monarchs past and present:

1. Mansa Musa of the Mali Empire.
2. Saladin
3. Genghis Khan
4. Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico
5. King Richard the Lionheart
6. King Juan Carlos I of Spain
7. HIM Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia
8. Kublai Khan
9. Suleiman the Magnificent
10. Charlemagne

Well there you have it. So if anyone is reading this. Who are your top 10 favourite monarchs?

You should also look up the Pharoahs such as Thutmosis III, Senworset, Taharqa(25th Dynasty Nubian Pharoahs), Some of the Asian Monarchies and African monarchies like Dahomey for example.

Thanks! I will look them up!
I wonder Hernieth are you a monarchist?

Not particularly. However I am not used to living in a monarchist state. Although I am Canadian, it is not something I give much thought to even though the Queen is technically our 'head of state'. In that respect, the monarchy is to remote. The Queen serves as a figurehead more or less.

If it wasn't for Taharqua, judaism, christianity and islam would not exist. Taharqa came to the aid of Israel when the Assyrians were invaiding. they routed the Assyrians thereby allowing the Israelites to carry on: http://www.aelaq.org/mrb/article.php?issue=9&article=202&cat=4
